Edward Carlson, born outside of Cambridge, England, grew up near downtown Los Angeles where the ever changing skyline began his couriosity about the world of architecture at the age of 6. From there his dream of being an architect and changing the built environment around him became his goal.

Encouraged by his mother, Edward attended the Southern California Institute of Architecture and received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1982. He is a registered architect in California, Colorado and Connecticut.

After graduation Edward worked in the office of Doug Ewing in South Pasadena, California.  At Ewing Architects Edward was responsible for the production of construction documents for several large tenant improvement projects for Epson Computers in Torrance, California. In 1983 Edward joined the office of Vito Cetta / Randy Washington where he began as a Project Manager and later became Director of Design Development, Planning and Production. For over 8 years Edward was responsible for numerous residential projects, from developing high density multifamily projects to single family subdivisions and custom homes. In 1991 Edward joined David Marshall and formed Carlson/Marshall, a full service architectural firm dedicated to high quality design for both commercial and residential projects. In 1994 Edward began Edward Carlson, Architect and a year later moved to Colorado where he continued to provide exceptional design and personal customer service to all his clients both home owners as well as builders and developers. In 2012 Edward relocated to Fairfield County, Connecticut and after 3 years has returned to California. Edward believes that as an architect his job is to listen to his clients and meet their needs while creating architecture that is practical as well as inviting.
